Homemade Teriyaki Sauce


Teriyaki just happens to be one of my favorite sauces. The sweet thick sauce over some rice or chicken is basically perfection! This recipe is incredibly easy and delicious. It pairs perfectly with many dishes and takes only a few minutes to prepare.



Most enjoyable with:

  • steamed vegetables

  • chicken or beef

  • rice

  • noodles




Ingredients for this recipe:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium Soy Sauce

  • 1/3 cup Water

  • 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar

  • 2 minced Garlic Cloves

  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch, sifted



Instructions:

  1. Combine 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/3 cup water, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 2 minced garlic cloves in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until sugar is dissolved.

  2. Once sugar is dissolved, mix in sifted cornstarch. Allow to come to a boil, reduce to low heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until sauce is thick.



*Notes*

  • This recipes makes about 1 cup of Teriyaki Sauce

  • This recipe may be doubled

  • May refrigerated in a glass container for a month
